Estimates
Of course, before any construction starts an experienced Glenbrook employee will scour your plan. We review each plan independently and knowledgeably, with the goal of giving a COMPLETE list of materials needed to the work. Pricing is based to you on the concept of a long term business relationship between us. Our current customers tell us that we have the most detailed and informative pre-construction estimates in the business.
Value Engineering
Our goal at Glenbrook Lumber is to provide the customer with Value-Added recommendations for their project. We can do this in three key areas.
 |
1. Increase Structural integrity
An engineered wood expert reviews print for properly sized beams. They review floor system designs & account for special loads that may not be shown on plans. Examples: Kitchen islands w/granite tops, extra-large appliances, oversized whirlpool tubs.
2. Discover opportunities for value-added features
Review truss designs to add useable area inexpensively, such as attic trusses or spread web storage. Search for better closet designs, nooks or built-ins.
3. Seek out cost reduction ideas!
Our experience allows us to offer ideas that will save money on the bottom line while not sacrificing the architectural appearance of your project. Slight roof pitch changes, support mulls for windows, adjusting bearing wall locations, are all just a few of the ways we saved our current customers thousands of dollars

Job Evaluations
Computer generated Job Evaluations are unique to Glenbrook Lumber and are a valuable resource to help manage a project’s costs and can be done anytime during the project for a variety of worthwhile reasons. With the click of one key all the information of your current project including items, quantities, prices, and of course any discrepancies will be easily identified. Our current customers really appreciate this tool as it quickly reminds them of customer product changes, misuse or incorrect use of material on site, and even helps them coordinate overall sub contracting scheduling on the job site.
